The lion & The River

The songwriters behind the viral TikTok hit “Close My Eyes” bring you their new project, “The Lion & The River,” a synth folk pop duo capturing the journey of two best friends making music and surviving life together in Boulder, Colorado.

Previously fronting a touring pop rock band, Kiley Woodland and Erik Pierce have shared stages with legendary acts of diverse styles, ranging from KISS and Extreme, to Zac Brown Band and Sheryl Crow. Their music, a heartfelt testament to their indomitable spirit, has captivated audiences of all ages, achieving sold-out shows across The United States, securing coveted spots in soundtracks for Hulu and Amazon Prime productions, and earning an honorable mention in the International Songwriting Competition.

As they were climbing their way to success, tragedy struck when a commonly prescribed antibiotic put Kiley in a wheelchair, devastating their lives. Unable to walk or perform, they wondered if their dreams were gone forever. Erik stayed by her bedside month after month with a guitar in hand, and as she began to recover, the music that they so desperately needed found its way back into their lives.

Undeniably heartfelt and filled with existential vulnerability, the music of The Lion & The River is a testament to the transformative power of friendship in the face of life’s adversities.  With a dynamic sound that blends the raw, emotive storytelling of folk-pop with energetic percussion and ethereal soundscapes of synth-rock, every song is a journey that hooks the listener from beginning to end.
